Xbox Game Studios and TiMi Studio recently announced that Age of Empires Mobile, a strategy game adapting the classic Microsoft title for mobile devices, will be released on October 17. The game will be available for both Android and iOS, marking the franchise’s first venture into mobile platforms.
Age of Empires Mobile aims to bring the essence of the original series to smartphones, though with some modifications to better suit the format. Unlike the classic versions found on PC, this mobile version will be more similar to games like Clash of Clans, while still retaining elements characteristic of the Age of Empires franchise. Players can expect a mix of empire-building, resource management, and strategic battles, but with an interface and gameplay adapted for smaller screens.
Four civilizations have been confirmed for the game’s launch: Chinese, Roman, French, Byzantine. Each civilization will have its own unique traits, allowing players to choose different strategies based on the strengths and weaknesses of each.
In addition to civilizations, Age of Empires Mobile will also feature famous historical figures that can be recruited to assist in battles. Confirmed characters include Alexander the Great, the Queen of Sheba, and Hammurabi, each bringing unique abilities that can be used during confrontations.
For those interested in exploring this new version of Age of Empires, the game is now available for pre-registration on Google Play and the App Store.
