Amanda the Adventurer: Horror game to be released for mobile devices in 2024

Publisher DreadXP, in partnership with developer MANGLEDmaw Games, has announced that the horror game “Amanda the Adventurer” will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android in the year 2024. The game, which was initially released for PC via Steam on April 25, 2023, also made its way to the Switch console on September 19, 2023.

Amanda the Adventurer is a game that offers a single-player horror experience. The plot follows Riley Park, who inherits her Aunt Kate’s house and discovers a series of VHS tapes hiding a mysterious cartoon. The tapes, marked only with episode numbers, reveal a disturbing story involving the character Amanda and her sheep Wooly.

The game stands out for its animated tapes which, despite featuring a friendly and childish exterior, tell a disturbing narrative. The computer-generated images harken back to the classic style of the 90s, evoking nostalgia from that era of animation. Additionally, the characters interact directly with the player, creating an immersive and sometimes unsettling experience.

Players will face challenging escape room-style puzzles, using clues hidden in the tapes to advance the story. The exact release date for mobile platforms has not yet been disclosed, but expectations are high that the game will bring a new dimension to the horror genre on mobile devices in 2024.
