In 2021, Tencent announced the game Auroria (originally named Our Planet). Initially conceived as an analogue to No Man’s Sky, with space travel and exploration, the project underwent revisions. Now, judging by the official information released, Auroria takes a more survival-focused approach, reminiscent of the 2024 PC hit Palworld, but in a space setting. The game world will not be limited to one map; it will be built in the format of a universe with various different planets.
The updated description of the game states that Auroria will feature a pet system. Players will be able to tame various creatures and unlock their abilities. These pets will be useful in travels, battles, and household tasks.
Although the exact release date for Auroria has not yet been disclosed, it is scheduled to arrive on Android, iOS, and PC. According to the game’s Steam page, the release is planned for the second quarter of 2024 and is already underway.
The drastic change in the game’s concept has raised questions from players, casting doubts on the feasibility of the release in 2024.
