Thekla, Inc. has announced today the release of Braid: Anniversary Edition, a new version of the classic indie game now available across various platforms. The game can be accessed on PC, consoles, and smartphones, with accessibility through Netflix Games. To play, an active Netflix subscription is required.
However, it’s important to note that the release of Braid: Anniversary Edition for mobile devices is experiencing delays. Currently, only users with accounts in the Philippines’ App Store and on Google Play have access to the Anniversary Edition version of the game.
Braid: Anniversary Edition serves as an update to the original indie game, Braid. Players are able to manipulate time to solve puzzles across a series of interconnected worlds. The quest for the Princess leads players to explore memories and regrets within a narrative that unfolds through artistically painted environments.
This new edition features repainted high-resolution graphics, new sound effects, and audio commentary from the creators. Players can rewind, pause, and utilize the temporal properties of each world to progress through the game, collecting puzzle pieces and avoiding obstacles.
A highlight of the new version is access to developer commentary, providing over 12 hours of additional content. Jonathan Blow, David Hellman, and other members of the creative team share insights and discussions about the game’s development.
Meanwhile, the mobile version of Braid: Anniversary Edition includes an exclusive level not available in the PC and console versions. If you’re interested, the game is available on Steam, Google Play, and the App Store.
