Capcom has confirmed the release of Resident Evil 7 for iOS and Mac OS devices, scheduled for July 2. The title will be accessible to users of the iPhone 15 Pro, as well as iPads and Macs equipped with the M1 chip or newer versions. Continuing its strategy of making its games available on mobile platforms, the company also plans to release a remake of Resident Evil 2, although the specific date has not yet been disclosed.
iOS devices continue to be fertile ground for major game adaptations, with the recent addition of Assassin’s Creed Mirage to its library this month.
Previously, Capcom had already introduced Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village into the iOS ecosystem, both currently on sale until June 30. The performance of these games on mobile devices has been a topic of discussion, especially considering that current iPhone models face challenges in running them optimally. On the other hand, iPads with M2 and M4 processors demonstrate superior processing capabilities.
The company also mentioned that it will maintain the original control scheme in the mobile versions of Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 remake. This implies that gameplay and interaction with the touch screen controls may present difficulties. For an enhanced gaming experience, it is recommended to use a gamepad compatible with the devices.
