Bluehole Studio confirmed that the beta test of Dark and Darker Mobile, which took place in Korea, was completed on April 28. Additionally, the studio revealed plans for a global beta test scheduled to occur in August, ahead of the official game release planned for late 2024.
Krafton and Bluehole Studios announced that the global beta test will not be available in all regions. The countries announced for the test are the United States, Japan, and Turkey. Other regions will likely be included. Players outside these countries who wish to participate in the beta test will need to use a VPN.
During the beta test in Korea, more than 50,000 players participated, and 97% of the participants expressed interest in playing the global version of the game. Despite the positive reception, there were concerns among Korean players regarding the game’s monetization system. Krafton assured that Dark and Darker Mobile will not follow a pay-to-win model.
The mobile version of Dark and Darker, developed by Krafton in partnership with BlueHole Studios, will differ from the PC version, which is developed by Ironmace. According to the developer, the mobile game will incorporate elements of Battle Royale and RPG, distinguishing it from the dungeon focus of the official version.
