Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed game, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, originally released for PlayStation 4 in 2019 and later for PlayStation 5 and PC in 2021, can now be played on iOS mobile devices. The game is priced at $19.99 on the App Store and is compatible with iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, as well as iPad with M1 or M2 processors.
However, users who downloaded the game reported various performance and gameplay issues. According to players who tested the game on iPhone 15 Pro, the graphics are inferior to the PC version, with blurred textures and an unstable frame rate ranging between 20 and 30 FPS. Additionally, the game experiences abrupt performance drops in some scenes, causing the image to become almost static.
Another issue pointed out by players is the lack of adaptation of controls for the touch screen. The game requires many buttons and gestures to perform various actions, making gameplay and immersion challenging. The recommended solution is to use an external controller, such as the Xbox Wireless Controller or the DualSense, which can be connected via Bluetooth.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is an open-world action and adventure game that tells the story of Sam Porter Bridges, a deliveryman who must reconnect the isolated cities of a post-apocalyptic America while facing supernatural and human threats.
