Following the release of Persona 5: The Phantom X in selected Asian countries, SEGA released information about the game’s future plans in a recent financial report. The company confirmed that the launch in Japan is planned, while the global version is currently “under consideration”, frustrating speculations that the game could be released in the near future.
During the presentation of the financial results, SEGA highlighted the performance of Persona 5X, released in April in China and South Korea. The company described the game’s initial performance as “expected”, although specific data was not provided. Investor attention was focused on the prospects of the game’s release in other regions.
SEGA revealed that, although there are plans to release Persona 5X in Japan and globally, localization for international markets is still in the early stages. This suggests that a global release may not occur in 2024. The company is also focused on the development of Sonic Rumble, with a global release planned for this winter.
