Google Play, the Android app store, will allow developers to use blockchain-based digital assets, such as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and cryptocurrencies, in their apps and games from December 7 this year. The decision aims to stimulate innovation and creativity in the mobile app industry.
However, developers will have to follow some rules to ensure the safety and transparency of transactions involving these assets. For example, they will have to inform users if their app or game contains NFTs, and they will not be able to promote cryptocurrency mining or encourage players to invest real money in NFTs or cryptocurrencies.
In addition, developers will have to sign up on Google Play to use NFTs in their games, and they will only be able to perform transactions on certified websites and in accordance with the laws of each country. These measures aim to prevent fraud, scams and gambling disguised as blockchain games.
