The roguelike RPG Hades, which received numerous awards and critical acclaim in 2020, will be available for iOS smartphones and tablets starting March 19. However, to play the title, users will need an active Netflix subscription.
According to the streaming service, Hades will have an optimized version for mobile devices, featuring 60 frames per second, menus and interfaces tailored for touch screens, full control customization, and cloud saving.
Hades is an action-adventure game where players control Zagreus, the rebellious son of the Greek god of the dead, attempting to escape the underworld with the help of other deities. The game stands out for its dynamic gameplay, engaging narrative, and stunning art. Hades was originally released for PC and Nintendo Switch in September 2020 and has sold over a million copies.
Netflix stated that Hades will be the first of a series of exclusive games to be launched for iOS in 2024, as part of its strategy to expand its entertainment catalog. Service subscribers can download the games for free from the App Store but will need to log in with their Netflix account to play.
As of now, there is no information regarding a possible release for the Android system.
