The turn-based strategy game Howl, developed by Mi’pu’mi Games and distributed by astragon Entertainment, is now available for iOS and Android mobile devices. Originally launched for PC and consoles, Howl is described as a “tactical tale” set in a dark medieval setting, with a narrative centered around a dreadful “howling plague”.
The howling plague is a highly contagious disease that transforms its victims into wild, howling beasts, and can infect anyone who hears the cries. Humanity’s only hope lies with a deaf heroine, controlled by the player, who must seek a cure while saving distressed villagers and attempting to avoid death at the hands of bloodthirsty monsters.
The game requires players to plan up to six moves ahead to overcome enemies in a series of hand-drawn stages. There are various types of creatures roaming the forest and lurking in the shadows, each with their own attacks, abilities, and vitality levels.
Howl features 60 levels spread across four chapters, each presented in a unique “living ink” visual style. The game is free to download on mobile devices, with a small in-app purchase required to unlock the full game. Available now on the Google Play Store and the App Store.
