In the first quarter of 2024, the mobile gaming sector recorded a revenue increase, reaching the milestone of $20.3 billion, representing a growth of 2.9% compared to the same period last year. This increase comes despite a significant reduction in the total number of game downloads, which dropped by 6.8%, totaling 12.8 billion.
RPGs continue to dominate the game genre market, with revenues of $4.5 billion. However, there was a decrease of 13% compared to last year. Strategy games follow with $4 billion, marking a 7% increase. Casinos experienced significant growth of 34%, generating $3 billion, while puzzle games also showed a positive increase of 17%, with revenues of $2.9 billion. Simulators, on the other hand, experienced a slight decline of 1%, totaling $1.25 billion in revenue.
The standout among individual titles was MONOPOLY GO!, which surpassed the $770 million mark in revenues, surpassing the previous record of $765 million set by Honor of Kings in 2021.
