Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, stated that he intends to have a conversation with Apple CEO, Tim Cook, regarding the possibility of reducing the fees the company charges from creators on X.
The social media platform will allow users to subscribe to other users’ accounts through the iOS app. These subscriptions are processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system, which imposes a 30% fee on revenue. Musk believes that this fee is excessively high and negatively impacts content creators.
Musk also affirmed that the social media platform is committed to supporting content creators. According to him, Twitter will retain only 10% of revenue once a creator’s subscription surpasses $100,000, and there will be no charges during the first 12 months of the subscription.
