The NewPipe app, known for being an alternative client for YouTube on the Android system, has released its version 0.26.1. The update introduces support for a variety of new content, including YouTube live streams, Shorts, and dedicated pages for channels. Additionally, the new version brings improvements for other streaming platforms supported by NewPipe, such as PeerTube, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud.

The most awaited feature by users, channel tabs, is now available. When accessing a channel on NewPipe, users will find tabs that categorize content into playlists, live streams, regular videos, shorts, among others. This organization makes navigation and the discovery of new content within channels easier.
Another improvement is in the resolution of images and thumbnails. The update ensures the use of images with the highest available resolution, providing an enhanced visual experience. For users concerned about data consumption, there is the option to reduce the quality of images or disable them entirely.
Finally, version 0.26.1 addresses two technical issues that caused app crashes. The first was related to extracting the like count below YouTube videos, and the second to a recurring error that prevented the correct functioning of the background service. Both fixes contribute to a more stable and uninterrupted user experience.
