Please, Touch the Art 2 is an interactive experience that invites players to immerse themselves in the artworks of Belgian painter James Ensor, considered one of the pioneers of expressionism. The game has been launched for PC (Steam) and App Store. As of the publication of this article, the game is still in pre-registration on the Google Play Store.
This game is a sequel to the original Please, Touch the Art, which also paid tribute to another artist, Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. In the new game, players take on the role of a skeletal painter who must find their way back home in a hand-drawn world full of colors, shapes, and symbols. To do so, they need to interact with Ensor’s paintings, search for hidden objects, and solve puzzles.
The game serves as a way to bring the audience closer to Ensor’s art and history. Ensor, who lived between 1860 and 1949, was a pioneer in using vibrant colors, masks, and fantastical elements in his works. The game also features an original soundtrack inspired by classical music and jazz, complementing the game’s atmosphere.
