Samsung has announced plans to expand the functionality of its “Live Translate” feature to include third-party Android apps. The announcement was made by Wonjoon Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of Research and Development at the company.
“Live Translate” is a tool that allows users to translate phone conversations in real time. So far, the feature is limited to mobile apps developed by Samsung. The expansion will allow apps from other companies to enjoy the function.
Wonjoon Choi did not specify which apps will receive “Live Translate” support. However, it is speculated that popular apps like WhatsApp, Google Meet, KakaoTalk, and Telegram are among the potential candidates to integrate the new functionality.
The release date and technical details of the implementation have not yet been disclosed. Samsung says more information will be shared soon as the development of the feature progresses.
