The Chinese digital gaming giant, NetEase, has announced the upcoming release of Starzone Elite, a mobile game inspired by the popular shooter title Valorant. The announcement marks a return to the development strategy that has brought the company great successes in the past.
Starzone Elite has undergone several phases of closed testing and is now preparing for a global launch. NetEase has confirmed that a large-scale test is scheduled for April 11, initially restricted to players in China.
Previously titled Hyper Front, the game has been in development for several years and amidst a legal action with Riot Games, the developer of Valorant. After almost a year without updates, NetEase comes up with a new look for the game.
The game, which will be available on Android and iOS platforms, is expected to be released in the summer or fall of this year.
