This is certainly disappointing news for mobile football gaming enthusiasts who aren’t subscribers to Netflix’s service. It has been announced that the mobile version of Football Manager 2024 will only be accessible to active Netflix subscribers.
The announcement came from SEGA and Sports Interactive, the companies responsible for developing and publishing the game. According to them, Football Manager 2024 Mobile will be released on the same day as the PC and console versions, which is on November 6th. However, to play the mobile version, users will need an active Netflix subscription.
Netflix Games is a new division of the streaming company that offers ad-free and in-app purchase-free mobile games. These games can be accessed through the Netflix app and can be played offline.
Nevertheless, not all Football Manager fans are pleased with this development. Some have criticized the exclusivity of the mobile version, while others are disappointed that they cannot transfer their game progress between different platforms.
SEGA has stated that players can sync their saves between PC and console but not with the mobile version. Additionally, pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play is not yet available, as Netflix releases its games in these markets only on the launch day.
