The game Sword Art Online Variant Showdown, based on the popular anime and light novel series, has announced that it will undergo an extensive maintenance period starting from September 28. The game, which allows players to explore a fantasy world with different classes and abilities, has faced criticism due to its instability and lack of optimization.
In an official statement, the game’s team apologized to fans for the inconvenience and explained that the game needs to be redeveloped from the ground up to address the existing issues and provide a better experience for players. The maintenance is expected to last for about a year, with the game returning in the summer of 2024 for the northern hemisphere.
Players who already have saved data in the game will be able to transfer it to the new version when it’s launched, without losing their progress or items. However, the sale of premium coins will be suspended by the end of August this year.
